Ophelia’s Ember (Drama Queen Poppy) came from a quiet war inside me; between letting go and going out in a blaze. Where Shakespeare’s Ophelia sank into silence, my poppy refuses the script. She burns instead. Glorious. Defiant. Maybe self-destructive. But bright. This painting asks a simple question I keep circling in life and art: when it’s time to vanish, would you rather fade… or flare?
